Advice needed

Hi guys,

This is my predicament:

I recently started playing WoW, after much convincing from a friend of mine. However, because he played on the US servers I bought the US server edition and started playing.

Now this is where my question comes in. My friend has since stopped playing and I've just carried on by myself. But, I'm immigrating to Europe in the next few months. So should I just cut my loses and get the EU version? Or continue on US (Whisperwind Server)?

If I do move to EU server, which server should I use? I'd like to be on a server where there are South African players.

Hiya! I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, although EU to US.

What I think you should consider is whether you like PvE, PVP, your ping (ISP) & whether or not you prefer End Game stuff like Kara, BG's etc.

What I did was get trials for both EU & US & check out the Realms I wanted to.

Both EU & US have some great Realms, Twilights Hammer being my fav on EU. It has a large SA contingent & a number of guilds catering for PvE or PvP.

Thanks Y2K. I've only really just started the game, so haven't really gotten into it that far.
 
Playing on an EU server from the EU will be the best option! You will have great latency to start off with and play times will be pretty convenient!

TH have a bunch of nice guys on it, and if I were not settled already on a different realm I would have started over there!
 
I would definitely suggest moving to EU, not just because of the better latency, but because of the timezone difference. Check out Scarshield Legion.

TH got alot of SA people all over SA guilds to Got Pap en Vleis thats only SA people Natural perfection thats 80% SA rest randoms.I started my own guild just picking up Random players and discovered 25% of my 125 members are SA people lol.

If you want to join my guild just wisper me on TH Boomrooker guild names Thralls Elite guard unit were small 125 members just started a month ago
got all lvls from 1-57 good guild if you wanna reroll :).
 
I'm thinking of transfering one of my chars to TH. Don't think I could level another one from scratch. shudder.

The guilds on Ahn'Qiraj suck balls. Can't get into any established guilds (none doing Kara atm) and all new guilds I join fall apart after about 2-3 weeks. Thinking of going full PVP on my lock if latency will allow. (just got an unshaped account :D)

Got a 70 lock, 56 warr and 38 priest. Which should i transfer (first) do you think. My realm is seriously short in tanks and too many locks, how's TH?

ummm... never mind, R200 is a bit much for a transfer :P

TH got to many huntards ,rogues,locks should go healer or tank think everyone on this server in love with dps classes.LFG is always in seach of healers and Tanks for dungeons and for guild recruitment.

Roll a druid dude youll always be needed for healing or tanking and 50g not much to pay to change rolls.
 
yeah been thinking of trying out a druid. It's just gonna be *** not having poppa warlock and big bro warrior to give him some spending moneys for gear though :(

I know the feeling lol hard to start with one bag no gold.
I usaully give my low lvl guildies some gold and they can take from the guild bank most of them repair till lvl 30 on guild expenses lol
just have to pay it back on higher lvls.:D
None of us are imba rich but we keep things going no lvl 70 in guild lol.

hmm. making it sound not so bad. don't be surprised if you see a /w coming from a lowbie druids anytime soon.

oh and to get back to OP:

Go for EU if you're gonna be living in europe. I started out on US, got leveled to around 50+ and swapped over to EU without looking back once. Only thing i regret is not researching my realms a bit more. Else I would have been TH from the start.

The main theme of the guild is to help people lvl
me and other lvl 50s booste the lowbies from time to time well we can only boost lowbie instances highest member is lvl 58 i am lvl 53 because i lvl too many toons never had a 70.

lvl28 rogue, 2 lvl 30hunters,lvl 39 frostmage ,lvl 35 waroir,lvl 14 lock,my druid lvl 53 very first wow char i rolled 6 moths ago always go back to him dont know why lol.:D

Dude your welcome it is kinda cool to lvl up with people from the same lvl
in the same guild..

One thing i did in the guild is to give low lvl people that been with the guild for a few days a rank so they can inv their friends when i am not on it kinda keeps the guild cool for all lvls 1-55 we had a few lvl 70 but the guys left cant blame em nobody on their lvl in guild.

I yeah some of the lvl 70s left cause people on lvl 15 had higher rank than than the lvl 70 but the lvl 15 has been with us from the start he just joined guild ranks not about lvl for me.

hah, i don't really care about rank. Always willing to help out though. I'll probably be leveling quite slow though as i'm loving my warr at the moment. Just got the hang of stance dancing.
- little tip to all warriors: if you haven't already, try binding stances to mouse wheel.
I'm using:
MW up - battle
MW click - defence
MW down - beserks

After you get over not zooming in+out with MW it becomes pure bliss.
