Pretty much what happened to me.

Set a budget then started looking at what was available and it was either something in budget but with a lot of question marks (they were cheap for a reason), or slightly above what I wanted to spend. In the end I opted to buy slightly above what I initially intended to spend but came away with a car still in warranty.

How are you finding the boot space in the CX-3? I was interested in one, but that boot is tiny.

Agree, stay far away from the 1.5L Figo. The older gen 1.4 petrol options are good.

What's wrong with the 1.5 TC VCT figo as I have a 2018 trend auto..still going strong with 115000..replace cambelt at 75k as per manufacturer recommedation..Should I be worried about something?

It is used as a daily runaround by our boys nanny so it's not really an issue, my wife has a Tiguan and I have a Touareg, my Touareg does the bulk of the long haul trips with a roof box or/and a trailer.

Yip, I am getting that same feeling

Instead of paying R2k a month for a 100K 8 year old car, it seems you have to fork out at least 150-200k for a 3-4 year old budget car.
That or buy a lucky packet from WBC or Weelie
