advice on hdd dilema

Hi

ok so i have a 500gb external but want to put another 500gb into my pc, i only have a few months left on the external drive warranty, so should i just viod my warranty on external drive and open it and put into my pc? i dont really wana fork out R700 odd for a new internal drive.

the external is iomega by the way. and thoughts??

Not necessarily. There are (were) both versions around, SATA and IDE, but just pop the case and have a peek, and take it from there.

Probably SATA. Dont bother about the warranty, very unlikely the drive will fail soon, unless u break it.
