Hi all, I had the unfortunate experience to have signed up with Afrihost. Eventually when it became clear to me they cannot deliver an uninterrupted service for more than a week and always blame someone else for their, as I see it, ineptitude, I terminated on 25 May 2015 and promptly received a mail from one Sheldon saying it will be terminated on 30 June as instructed and the line reverted back to Telkom.

Shortly thereafter another mail sent from someone else says it will only be done on 31 July, suddenly they want a month's notice, to which I do not agree as I have already agreed with Sheldon, acting on their behalf, to have it cancelled on 30 June, and succinctly, I do not want to keep on pleading with them to deliver at least some of the service I pay for, a non stopping battle with ceasefires for at best a week before they again need a support ticket to rectify, then the blaming of Telkom, then my router, then santa claus, then fairies resetting my settings, and eventually after a week's worth of battles, they rectify, and it at best lasts for a week before the routine repeats itself

Then on 3 July I get a mail from Afrihost, one Petloane, stating "Your line is under cancellation pending and my take at least 7-14 working days for it to get migrated back to telkom.

Now, here we are today, Afrihost still hogs the line and cancelled adsl thereon, but don't give it back to Telkom either. They seem to be simply spiteful.

My question: how do we work around that?

Bit late for you ...

But yes, good lesson in this .....

If your line is with AH, migrate it back to Telkom, then cancel.

/makes mental note to self
