Hi guys I finally decided to upgrade the old Core2Duo build I have and go I5.
Here is my current specs:
Asus 775 P5k Deluxe/Wifi
Core2Duo E8400
4Gig Corsair Ram
Gigabyte 700W PSU
Gigabyte GTX 570 SOverclock edition

Here is what I am planning to get it replaced with:
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 http://www.wootware.co.za/asrock-z77-extreme4-lga1155-intel-z77-atx-desktop-motherboard.html

I5-3570K http://www.wootware.co.za/intel-core-i5-3570k-3-4ghz-lga1155-quad-core-ivy-bridge-cpu.html

RAM-G.Skill F3-1600C9D-16GAR (2x8GB) DDR3-1600MHz http://www.wootware.co.za/g-skill-f3-1600c9d-16gar-2x8gb-ddr3-1600mhz-1-5v-cl9-dual-channel-ares-desktop-memory.html

Hard drive-OCZ Vertex4 Series - 64GB 2.5" SATA III SSD

I will use this pc mostly for gaming. Anything you guys would change and do you think it will be a worthwhile upgrade for me over my current Core2Duo rig? Can I expect a boost in FPS in games like Battlefield 3?

I'd advise against that small/slow OCZ Vertex 4. Rather go for the 128GB model!!

If you don't already have an aftermarket CPU cooler that supports Socket 1155/1156, then it may be worth while getting one with your new CPU. The stock Intel cooler should suffice if you're not going to overclock, which may not be necessary in the beginning.

Is there a particular reason why you chose the Extreme 4 motherboard over the Pro 3 one, which is like R300 cheaper?!

BF3 will be much faster with the Quad Core CPU! That i5 is also higher clocked at stock speed than your existing C2D, nevermind that the i5 is much more efficient (in terms of processing power per GHz) too!

Hehe - thats pretty much the one I just built.

But yeah def 128gb. 64gb is really not going to work. Hell I'd prob grab a 256 if I had to make the choice again.

Also, the mobo comes with an Asrock extreme tuning tool thing...pretty useful for managing fans etc. They are on full blast per default, so without the tool it makes a hell of a noise.

They undervolt really well. Got mine at -0.150v. Pretty sure it'll hit a wall round .190-ish but I haven't tried. So that makes stock fan quite a bit more bearable.

Thanks for the advice so far.

My reasoning with going for the extreme 4 is that it has allot more features ie SLI and connections availlable than the Pro3. When it comes to upgrading I believe to spend the extra bucks on the mobo simply ,because for me it's one of the most important parts of the pc to me.

Here is my revised list:
Asrock Extreme 4
I5-3570k
G/skill sniper 1866Mhz DDR3 2x4 GB (Please advise if this RAM will be compatible with the AsRock board) I decided to go with 8 GB instead of 16 GB. http://www.wootware.co.za/g-skill-f3-14900cl9d-8gbsr-2x4gb-ddr3-1866mhz-1-5v-cl9-dual-channel-sniper-desktop-memory.html

and lastly to get an OCZ Agility 3 256 GB SSD instead of the 64 GB one.

I'll use the stock CPU cooler in the meantime untill I can afford something like a Phantecs cooler.
