Hi All

With the vumatel upgrade being offered I realised my current TP Link Archer D50 is out dated and max out at 100mbps which is my current speed, so I need to change my router as the D50 has aged and outdated. I am thinking of the router below, anyone have any experience with it ? Is it a good one to get ?

Or is that overkill and should I get this one

Usage is mostly streaming 4 LAN connected devices
Samsung Q80R
PS3
Denon AVR
HP Desktop (Plex Media Server)

Wifi connections
Work Laptop
2nd PS3
Cellphone
personal laptop

Which would you get?

I created a similar thread.
And I have seen a few more being created.

But here is mine:
Thanks will check it out

Thinking of going with the AX72 should get a good 5 years use out of it
My D50 is almost 10 years old and has never skipped a beat

Thanks for the suggestion

Have you used this brand?

The HUAWEI AX3 is a good router and handles a 200/200 line well enough

Only problem is range is not the Best But when close and in the same room the AX3 is very quick

On my AC wifi laptop I get 770Mbps to the router via it’s 5Ghz

Just mesh a second (or third, fourth, etc) as necessary?

I'm glad it's not my imagination then, I tested and got the same thing ~770Mbps.

Weird how it was the exact same throughput, maybe we have the same Wi-Fi chip that’s what windows reported but didn’t test it to see stability and if it fluctuates

Ordered and paid for the TP Link AX72 this morning from Evetech, those guys are on the ball. Should get it soon,

I got an email from Vox last night saying the double speed deal has been extended to 31 January 2023 so thats awesome

I have a question
Most of my streaming is done on my Samsung Q80R , so from my research the LAN Port is limited to 100mbps. So would it be possible to past the 100mbps limit via WIFI or is that not possible?

What are you wanting to stream at more than 100mbps? Although the wifi should be able to do more than that if necessary.

Unless you're streaming 8k there is no need for more than 100Mbps connection. Most services use codecs that top out at about 80Mbps (at most). Wifi CAN do more than this but again there is no real need at the moment

My Youtube premuim and DisneyPlus has been buffering lately
Then again it could be my 10 year old router

2160P max
8K TV set is on my mind but will consider if content become more available.

When i stream 4k Youtube it maxes out around 25Mbps; Amazon Prime is around 40 (with HDR)

The buffering could be the ISP / FNO congestion or your home network layout although google did have some issues a few weeks ago that also caused buffering
