Hi there, I am looking to upgrade my ram to 6-8 gig, ddr2. I currently hav an E7300 @ 2.8 GHz core 2 duo system from PCZone with 2 gig of generic ram and generic psu that comes with their systems.

What wud be the cheapest ram that I cud get that wud handle a slight oc to ~3.2GHz?
I don't want to spend a lot of money since this is an outgoing platform.

Also I wud like to upgrade the psu as I don't trust these generic types... 8600gts, 500gb hard drive, dvd writer. What wud suffice? Again budget is key, ~R600, but I don't mind spending a little extra if its future proof.

Thanx for ur swift replies:)

A Vantec ioN2+ PSUs are getting good recommendations. Get the VAN-600AS or the VAN-550A.

As for RAM, what are you running that exceeds the 2GB RAM right now? Does it currently fail on overclock?

Hi thanx PostmanPot that psu is quite cheap and a well known brand too. I saw a coolermaster 460w for about the same price, any major differences?

The pc is used primarily for video editing and rendering, its quite slow atm with the 2 gig Kingmax ram that I have hence the reason for wanting to upgrade. PCZone has Transcend 2 gig ddr2-800 for about R300, anyone used it b4?

i have the vantec ion2+ 520W with a 4890.

no problems, its fantastic.
