Advice on Telkom Free Modem

I am about to upgrade from dial up connection to HomeDSL. I currently access the internet from 3 PCs running Windows XP networked via a Cnet 8 port switch.

Which of the modem options available from TELKOM would be the best to use in this situation and will family members still be able to access the internet concurrently using the networked PCs.

Mike, in short, none of the modems offered by Telkom are worth going for as they tie you into a 24 month contract.

This topic is very much an ADSL512 & HomeDSL384 Frequently Asked Question. You can get a much better ADSL modem/router for around R500, even the same sold by Telkom without the huge Telkom markup. This gives you the advantage of being on a 30 day notice contract with Telkom. I am sure everyone else will ellaborate further, alternatively look through the recently posted ADSL threads that cover the same subject.

On your question of internet sharing - yes - share the PPPOE client from one of the PC's and all 3 will be able to access the internet concurrently
