Last last month I went over my 20 GB cap and I had very slow speeds, which I understand. I switched to my free 3 GB from FNB and the family was happy again.

Of course the 3GB ran out soon but we were in a new month, but the Telkom speed remained atrocious.

Got my new allocation from FNB again and ran two separate speedtests, one with the Telkom username and password and another with the FNB username and password minutes from each other, all else being the same and only the test user online.
The results for FNB Connect: download 3.15 mb/s upload 0.52 mb/s ping 55ms
The results for Telkom: download 0.58 mb/s upload 0.52 mb/s ping 69ms
Strangely the upload speed is the same at .52
I have checked the Telkom cap currently only used 24%/
Any advice anyone can give me?

Hi There,
Have you asked Telkom what they think the reason may be?

Did you by anychance do a speedtest last month after you exceeded the cap?

Regards

Tim

Best thing is to contact Telkom internet and let them know about the difference in your speed tests and ask them to check it out from there side.
