Hi all!

Have a client here at a smallish hotel.
Curently an old NEc PABX with telephone wires to all 25 extensions. Property isnt IP wired they use wifi throughout.
They have 3-4 phone lines incl of 1 ADSL. Internet here can be very wonky and fiber only arriving in a year i would guess.
We dont need VOIP per se. looking for a robust value for money solution.

Any advice appreciated.
Thanks!

It's always better to run Ethernet for your phones, but given the size of the deployment DECT or possibly even WiFi phones are an option. Asterisk or SwitchVox can easily replace your existing PBX and offer you some nice new features. I assume there is a billing requirement as well or is the phone system for staff use only?

If you want more info drop me a PM with your details and I'll get someone to give you a call.

Hi thanks! I am in cape town. forgot to say yes we do need to backend into billing for calls. what about software only systems?
Thanks again!

@OP: We switched to Digium - mostly for call-centre, but phones are POE and VOIP capable. Monitoring functionality and call handling is superior to what we used to have (also some ancient PABX).
