Hello everyone,

i am looking for advice with importing a smart lock with homekit from amazon. they require a deadbolt (eg from level bolt, or august or schlage)
I see these bolts are quite long.

i wanted to know if there is anything to look out for that may lead to incompatibility in SA system?
eg i do not want to buy the bolt only to find that I am unable to cut deep enough into door frame etc.
I am looking for one that specifically works with homekit so choices from SA are very limited, thus having me having me to import it.

Also interested in this subject. But I'm into this model:

It has wi-fi rather than bluetooth, and makes use of apple home key, so you can unlock with watch or phone.

Nope, it's out of stock pretty much everywhere. It seems as if it was only soft-launched a few months ago. Hopefully they go into full production soon.

This dude regularly review smart locks from Amazon, see if the lock you looking for has been reviewed:

50 years in locks.....have a tiny pack of picks that opens anything !!!
Be careful.

This guy will put you off buying anything that uses a key. Nothing stops him!
I now know that generally speaking you must stay away from masterlock, as nearly everything is bad. When he gives "A not bad" rating, it basically means it is fort knox for the average thief.
