Hi.

I am doing a project that requires information on shares by market capitalization.
How would one go about finding information about which shares have the highest market capitalization within their indices over a certain period of time.

Google Finance should have this info, if not get historical balance sheets and work it out :)

Market cap = price x # shares issued. Not sure if you'll see it on the balance sheet.

You will see shares issued on the balance sheet for historical data, you will also need to just pull the share price for that date and work it out...

Speak to a broker. Most of them would be willing to answer your questions if they have the time. They have access to databases and sources of info that the general person does not have access to.
