I'd like to buy a notebook for business purposes, able to run MS Office and perhaps capable of fast browsing on the Web.

An Intel Core i3 or i5 processor and some decent memory.

Do you know any particular provider I should be looking for?
Price/performance is a plus

Many thanks

decent as in how much? decent for you may be small change for others, or vice versa

Well....if you not gaming, or using intensive gfx editing apps like PS then I can personally recommend the Lenovo Txxx range.

I myself have a T420 running W10 32bit (don't ask why there are reasons I cant go into here but it is 64bit compatible FYI) ...and manage some pretty intense processing of my astronomy RAW files without running into overheating, freezes, out of mem issues.
Yes, it's already about 5-6 years old but who cares if it does the job - adequate for medium to occassional high intensity requirements that I have.

light at 1.7kg, 14" screen, 4GB RAM (up to 8GB max), dual core i5 2nd gen 2.5-3.2Ghz, Intel HD 5000 graphics (1600x900) HD+, 320GB h/drive,4x USB 2.0/3.0 ports,etc
Only annoying neg for me is no HDMI port - but it does have Displayport to connect to a monitor/tv with appropriate adapter+cable.

If I where you I'd look at more recent models perhaps, like T430 onwards...

I'm sure you could pick a decent s/h one up for well under 5k...

Also look at the Lenovo Ideapad 320, it sells for between R7k-R8k. I5, 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD, 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Thank you Slingshot, Lenovo seems to be the best option so far.
