Hi

I'm interested in purchasing an action camera and want to get the best bang for my buck.

What I'll use it for:

a) Vlogging - Motoring, sport etc
b) Road running, light mountain biking
c) Family gatherings
d) Dash cam on long trips

I have 20Mbps down/2 Mbps up Fibre at home if that means anything. The guys online say a 4k camera is overkill at this point in time.

I've never used one before so it makes no sense for me to get a GoPro Hero 6 or Hero 5 for that matter.

Some options online:

1) GoPro Hero 5 Session Full HD - R3789
2) GoPro Hero 4 Silver Edition - R 3989
3) Volkano PowerCam HD - R2195

Thanks!

Maybe PM the OP see if he can give you some more info on the cam and whether it was worth it in the end..

Hi there

Yes I am the OP to the post linked above. Very chuffed to find someone linking my previous post to new posts:)
You may DM me for any information you need to know. I got the Volkano Force Model. Not sure if this has been discontinued since or if newer models are out.

I will update my initial forum post about the camera, something which I should have done a long time ago, with sample images etc. I was also hesitant as it was a brand i did not hear off.

If you want the least amount of bs I'd suggest getting a GoPro 5 or 6, image quality and 120FPS for slowmo is a winner.
Especially for vlogging anything less than a 5 or 6 the image just looks rubbish.

Hi Vorman

Google took me to your initial post and I was wondering what happened subsequently. Will DM you thanks.

FormerBBuser I bought the Hero 5 Session and its a great camera. Its kinda scary because there is no cover like the old go pros had for water proofing, so i was a bit cautious putting it in water. I would highly recommend that camera big time. You can also get an app on the phone that will allow you to stream the video and control the camera better from the app.

on a plus side there is a piece of paper in the box that says, you break it we will fix it lol! Kinda reassuring to see that from the manufacturer of the camera
