Took my lockdown project live last week, its a site that helps clients find and rate financial advisers.

Hoping this can contribute to better outcomes for people needing financial advisers by offering more choice and searchability, with real client feedback through a structured and fair process.

Looking for general feedback, and hoping that I can get some folk here to kickstart the process by reviewing their own adviser and sharing.

Thanks for the feedback so far. Have made an update to be able to look at top adviser profiles from the search page. This should make it easier for folk starting from scratch without even the name of an adviser. Now working on a marketing plan to get more people to submit feedback. IMG-20210712-WA0054.jpg

Very good site. I'm not a frontend developer but all the Angular code is easily readable? There's files deployed that aren't bundled and minified. May not be an issue just pointing it out

Nice, feels super fast., very user friendly.

Feedback:
  • Perhaps add some filtering capability on the search results when not signed in?

  • Further filtering when you are signed in - sort by no. of reviews, overall review score, etc.
  • Take a look at your search functionality.
    • Clicking on 'Find By Location' and searching for 'George' bring back plenty of advisors named George, but they don't seem to be based in George
    • When filtering results using language or services, no results are returned even when selecting all options (assuming this just to be a data linking issue - you don't necessarily know which services and in what languages they provide them)
    • There doesn't seem to be a difference between Basic and Advanced filtering?

  • Add some sort click through (even a modal would work) functionality from the search results to view a specific advisor's profile or at the very least make the search results a little bigger so the entire address can be displayed

  • Is there a plan to add further contact info for the advisors? How do you get in touch with an advisor if you are looking to enquire?
  • How are you ingesting the advisors, aside from them registering? Might just be a random luck, but found a duplicate

I didn't leave a review as I don't want to create unnecessary work for you to remove fake reviews, so I can't give feedback on that side on things.

Well done man :D

Edit:
  • Consider making search results persistent, e.g. searching, then clicking to view a profile, then going back requires you to search again, instead of displaying the previous search results.

Wow thanks for the quality feedback - much appreciated! I sent you a DM with some responses

Is there really 100k plus advisors or is that marketing fluff?

Overall well done, I tried something similar with https://platinumwealth.co.za/ but could never find a way to monetize, the advisors just did not want to fork out money.

Yes there are, but it goes down substantially once you remove bankers, warrantee salesman and funeral policy sellers, which I will be doing...
