So I moved to an Estate in Kosmosdal that does not have Telkom or any fixed broadband options. LTE and WISP is the only options for me.

So the Estate manager gave me the number for Aeonova360 which is the fibre company they chose to install the fibre. So it will be available from February and the 100Mbps option is R999.

Still waiting for them to email me the details about the packages ect.

Anyone have experience with this company? :)

Will do. I basically don't have any other option. I have Telkom uncapped LTE that get's me 6Mbps at best the tower is chocked because it's serving just too many estates here. I bought a Cellc 100Gb which is nice for gaming but won't last long and speeds are okay like 18Mbps LTE.

No Telkom fibre or Telkom copper lines too so just left these guys for fibre or WISP....

The Cosmos Estate. The estate right next to the one I'm staying Summerfield Estate has Vodacom fibre so not sure why this estate chose this random unknown company to do fibre but saw the vans digging and pulling the fibre through the manholes.
 
They emailed me the application form. All speeds are symmetrical up and down. It also includes fibre rental, free router and uncapped unshaped data usage. Not too bad....

Indeed. Getting myself the 100Mbps deal on 12 months.

I see they cut a small line of tar about half a meter from the pavement which they ran the fibre in all the way from the security office dow the road to all the complexes. Outside each complex entrance is a manhole and they ran the fibre to there.

So very close now. Can't wait to be connected actually.
 
Did you move out of Richards Bay Cavedog? Probably the only way to get fibre :( Congratz on the fibre though, it should be awesome.

Yeah I moved to Centurion. :cry: I miss Richards Bay already and it's only been like 3 weeks.
 
Hi Cavedog, I also stay at the cosmos, have you started using their fibre and how is their service is so?

Not yet. They are still busy with the install of the fibre in the estate. I'm putting pressure because I'm battling with Telkom LTE slow speeds because I think the Telkom towers are just too congested and no telkom land line available too so no adsl options.

Patiently waiting for Aeonova to finish their install. They are busy and their machines are still parked here in the estate. Hopefully by the end of this month....
 
So these flags started popping up all over the estate

6 months later and the fibre build is almost complete. It's taking them time because instead of trenching they are using that cutting machine to cut a small line into the tar and into the cement to each property because I guess there is no ducts for them to use so they have to do it from scratch.

Came home to a surprise today. Saw the fibre pulled right to my flat door so basically just need installation now.

Worst company I have ever dealt with to be honest. 1 agent to talk to and he never responds to emails, whatsapp or calls even so bad that he just rejects my calls right away when I call but when I call with a new random number he answers.

If this is signs of things to come it would probably be the worst provider I have ever worked with. These guys makes Telkom look like they can win an award for the best customer service ISP..... :wtf:
 
So today they pulled the cable into the flat. As the time hit 5pm exactly they just said ohhhh sorry it's time for them to go now they will see if they can come back on Monday to do the splicing and complete the install. :mad:
 
Fibre installed today. Just waiting for activation now.
 
Fibre up and running. A360 is selling Seacom fibre :D

A bit disappointed but yeah it is what it is. R999 is not a bad prices for completely unshaped uncapped data.

A360 is only supplying the Huawei Ecolife HG8245H with no router. The Huqei ONT is completely unlocked and comes with small wifi antennas. Very cool I believe Openserve supplies the same but locks it down.
