Aerial Booster

I recently got an old TV in my room, but the signal comes from the lounge which is on the opposite side of the house, the quality in my room is shocking but in the lounge perfect.
I was just curious if I need an aerial booster in the roof from where the signal splits?

If so how much are they roughly and anyone know where i can find some in the Cape Town area?
I googled but it wasn't much help locally.

I use one of those to boost the signal to the rest of the house - it works a dream. I seem to recall having to fiddle a little potentiometer or something to get it optimal.
