Aerosat technicians earn 3k per month

makes me think back too my starting salary in 1998 that was around 3k, but more like 2K also :D
 
Yep, my first job paid R1k per month... and I did Netware, Accpac, Windows blah blah installation, admin and support...
Have to start somewhere, but R3k is bad for a starter today by anyones standards IMO. I mean seriously - they are asking for skills here... That's not much more than the average unschooled garden domestic earns... of course every responsible person should earn a reasonable salary for a full days work...
 
Companies in East London really try screw over their employees. Ive never seen this kinda hitler mentality anywhere else :(

I know half a dozen techies on slightly better than that.
 
The lowest paid Telkom techie gets about 3 times that plus allowances plus all benefits!
 
That's pathetic for a skilled job. It's companies like this that are responsible for the relatively poor market value of IT labour. If anybody has this guys contact details, I'll be glad to reimburse his travel costs, just to leave them looking cheap.

My first pay after National Service was R50/week! In October of 1983 I started working for Sasol with a basic salary of R655p/m. After deductions I took home ±R400. When I got married, my basic was R750p/m, with a take-home pay of ±R600.

This was PE... still Eastern Cape mentality I guess...
 
Still waiting for a phone call from them to assess my WIFI signal in my area... that was 2 months ago.....
 
I also started on R3000 about 2 years ago but it was only to get my foot in the door and now a couple of jobs later I'm earning a decent salary.

People should stop complaining and just take the opportunities out there. There's a lot of experience you can gain from a job like this.

This isn't about 'people', it's about the company. I agree with the sentiment about taking the opportunities though - don't get me wrong - it's just that they are not exactly looking for someone with no experience here.
 
Funny thing coming across this article and hearing how people talk about Aerosat, I am currently an employee at the company, I read about this job in the paper and it sounded good to start myself off with here as it mentioned "5000 per month, company car, cell phone, internet, laptop" and of course I applied, now sitting with NONE of those benefits and not even the salary mentioned. its difficult to promote the services offered when I know what goes on behind the scenes and all the "catches" involved with the packages.

I'm no genius when it comes to computers but I do however have a about 6 years experiance and quite a few courses to my name.

I did however accept these conditions as I was no better off at the time, needless to say I'm still hunting for jobs!
