Hi people,

Just wondering if anyone's purchased any AFCON tickets as yet now that the fixture schedule has been released? Apparently there was suppose to be a way to purchase online but a Google search doesn't bring up anything concrete.

South Africa's 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) Local Organising Committee (LOC) aims to sell 400 000 tickets by the end of December.

LOC chief executive Mvuzo Mbebe said on Wednesday that tickets were selling well, but admitted more needed to be sold by year-end.

"Between now and the end of December we are aiming for the 400 000 mark," Mbebe said.

The LOC wanted the tickets to be accessible and affordable to the public, both in South African and Africa in general, but warned fans to buy them as soon as possible.

"It is going to be critical for the SA public not to think that they can wait until the last minute to buy tickets. We spoke to a company and they told us Ethiopia have requested 15 000 tickets per match they play.

"Hopefully, tickets will be sold and the supporters should seriously begin preparing to buy tickets."
They dont mention how to go about buying though

Tickets are not badly priced. Sad though , only 2 games are being shown at soccer city :( 1st game and the final.

Will get me some tomorrow.

You can get your tickets online, from a call centre: 087 980 3000 or from SOME Spars. The outlets which sell tickets can be seen here.

Tickets are really cheap! Group matches start at R50 and most of those matches are double headers. R50 for 2 matches is crazy. Even the best seats at the final cost only R200. There are also discounts if tickets are bought before 20 November.

Yeah, the prices are great and there's some decent fixtures. Looking forward to it!

I got my 3rd place play off and quarter final tickets a few weeks ago. Looking to get some group stage tickets.

Cool stuff! If I'm not mistaken, there's 2 SA games in Durban. The atmosphere is sure to be cracking for those games considering SA is the host. Looking forward to those games.

Yeah, SA's 2nd and 3rd group matches are in Durban. If they win the group, they would play their quarter final and semi-final there too.

Wow! I didn't realise that. Hopefully they do make it that far.

Are the discounts already applied to the current prices?

When I bought mine, the discounted prices were displayed on screen. I paid R310 for 2 cat 1 tickets to the quarter and 2 cat 1 tickets to the 3rd place play off.

But if they place second in the group they'll be playing their quarter final match here in PE.
