I think all norml straight thinking people know the answer. Skin colour is not an attribute that makes one a better candidate/person than another. Only merits should apply. After a generation and more of a level playing field and opportunities, it has become pure discrimination imho.

"Affirmative action" or any other implementation needs to happen in real time perspective as it plays out.
This means it will only work over the long term if all parties are on the same level in the mix, this means it starts at school and the school better be strict and good, or you have a runaway train that cannot be stopped as disalligned groups are forced together over few generations. So its more than just a simple implementation, it cannot bring success overnight which is a serious misconception.

I still cannot understand how people cannot see an issue with using discrimination to combat discrimination Even if you ignore how things like BEE, AA, etc. have been implemented and abused, the very idea that the only way to advance one part of society is to limit another part of society is the most absurd piece of 'logic'. Then you include things like the implementation, abuse, corruption, lack of necessary ground work, window dressing metrics, etc. and the whole idea of BEE, AA, etc. starts to paint the ridiculously bad picture it is.
