Medical Aid is a necessary expense.
If you are with Discovery cant you give them a call and set up a representative to come out and see you?
While an option like the Base Plan from Momentum is Ok, one has to really weigh up the two.
I can tell you this, Momentum used to sell Discovery Health products until Discovery decided to market their own products, then the representatives from Momentum who knew the ins and outs of Discovery's products started their own scheme called Pulz. Pulz later became just Momentum Health. The products may look different, but were modelled from the same ideas and notions.
Many very necessary procedures are omitted in Health Products these days, so be very aware of your age and needs. Just recently had to fork out a ton of money for dental procedures that were very much needed but not covered by any Health product on sale in the market today.
Just be careful, look at your age and be practical as to what goes wrong in your age group and buy accordingly. Don't fall for the sales talk.
A good example would be Maternity benefits, I think most are offered as standard, but let's be frank once you have had children will you need this cover for the rest of your life and here lies the problem with most Medical Aids where a lot of things are covered like Maternity, but do you really need it as most people only have one or two kids nowadays and usually before 40 years of age, but let's say you turn 50 and your teeth are starting to fall out, then that would be your need at that stage of your life.
