Hi

I am currently using the internet off my Vodafone card. but it works out very expensive.

I am now looking for an ADSL modem + wireless router. Unfortunately my budget isnt very big....
So i need to ask u guys to please recommend an affordable n capable router, and also a stockist(if possible). I have no idea about this piece of technology n dont trust da guys at the comp stores:)

Thanks

If you're looking for a HSDPA router, Telkom is selling the Huawei E960 gateway for R930. Bargain, cos the Huawei B970 goes for R2700 cash.

ADSL router? Any Netgear will do.

I was also going to go for Netgear, but the heat issue? made me change my mind - last week came into contact with two of netgear routers used by clients and they were running hot to the touch...apparently if you stand the router up on its side it cools it better from what I googled.

Been running an smc, billion and they are slightly warm to the touch.

A friend has the new netgear some 2000 model and he took it back because it would get hot and then shutdown, he had to wait 20min to get it working again - you think Netgear would have fixed this by now.

@ slyfly: Unfortunately m in JHB

okay, now for the experts opinion... between the 2 suggestions of the SMC SMCWBR14S-N2 Barricade N 2.4GHz 300Mbps Wireless Cable/DSL Broadband Router & the link DSL-2640U ADSL modem + wireless router + 4port 10/100 swit
Since the prices of both are similar, can any1 suggest the better option? motivations would also be appreciated:(
