AFRIHOST DNS TEMPORARY SOLUTION

I phoned Afrihost today (My ISP) and apparently some people (like me) can't connect because the DNS servers are down.
If this be the case here is a temporary solution.
I suggest changing this back to your original setting tomorrow or when afrihost is up and running.

Default Afrihost DNS address is 196.7.7.7 as Primary and 196.7.8.9 as secondary

Step 1:

Log into your Router at home or wherever (typically if you type 10.0.0.2 in a browser you will reach the login)
Default username and password is admin and admin (i suggest you change this for security sometime)
Be sure to not mess around if unfamiliar with settings.

Step2:

Look for "Advanced settings" or anything similar, you are looking for a setting called DNS server address.

Step3:

Once at the DNS server area you will see an IP address eg (196.7.7.7) and a secondary address.
Change these to " 8.8.8.8 " as Preferred (or primary)
and "8.8.4.4" as Secondary

Final step: Save or apply, exit the window and test Google.com or any site

Technical info:
The DNS server you entered above is the google DNS server as google almost never has any downtime. I suggest changing this address back soon if DNS Afrihost is up again.

Well that Sucks !

Theres not much I can think of you could try with that..........they'll have to sort it out.

I was told by Afrihost there's nothing I can with the DNS issues yet im browsing with the above fix I mentioned.

I have the same issue, but I'm using Unotelly's DNS.

Yea that'll work too. I know some people use that for netflix in SA or HULU and that.

I just reckon anything server related to Google almost never fails and should always provide good performance.
