Thanks, will try that. Nice, I see I can grab them from Caltex, House & Home, Pep, Cash Converters, Builders, Checkers, Spar, BP, Shoprite, Game, Nedbank....Try a Megsapp sim. Can get them from any Mr Tekkie https://megsapp.com/ for R40 with 1gb included.
Can you try the physical sim on another phone and see if it gives the same error message? Then we know if its phone related. So as an update to this, I ordered the physical SIM.
Popped it in, configured APN. Got an email from Afrihost saying my sim is active on their network... tried to make a call and got "Your service has been suspended, please contact your service provider"
This is beyond a joke lol.
Anyway, it was a cheapie R30 sim, I'm spinning my wheels trying to help support get this working for me now. I started this process in February and it's now mid April. Time to cut my losses.
Ja, I’ve given up with Afrihost. I ordered the physical sim and had identical problems in another (Android) phone. All of a sudden, two months after first sign up, I’m being told to re-RICA because my proof of address is now 3 months old. I actually think this was the problem from the start. Not the POA being out of date, but when I originally signed up I couldn’t RICA immediately so did it the following day. That’s where it all started, but in 2 months of wasting my time with support, nobody could tell me that. Can you try the physical sim on another phone and see if it gives the same error message? Then we know if its phone related.
Also what does the airmobile app show with your account?
I used an Airmobile eSim on my 2020 SE, worked just fine, I also use Megsapp eSims which run on the MTN network. It's not a problem Afrihost can fix, its an MTN issue. They cant fix it.
Yep Afrihost support is garbage, I couldn't get eSim swops done on my Airmobile numbers and after 3 weeks of trying to convince the idiots in support that they were stuck on pending I gave up.So as an update to this, I ordered the physical SIM.
