I currently have a 3Gb TelkomInternet account (5Gb effectively) and
just purchased the 5Gb option from Afrihost a few days ago.

When you are capped on the TI account you have 30Gb local bandwidth
left, which is common knowledge.

My question is then: what happens when you get capped on Afrihost, is
there local bandwidth? I have not been able to test yet what happens.

Anyone have any idea if there is Afrihost local bandwidth after international
gets capped?

Yep, no local what so ever. I was actually quite silly to change my 5GB home account to Afrihost. Probably got caught up in the hype as I normally use more local than international (I hardly ever use international at home). I am probably going back to Telkom at the end of the month. They have a very good deal but really not suitable for me...

I'll still keep my 20GB International work account from Afrihost though...

No local bandwith is given once u are capped...

If you buy a 1GB package, you only have 1 GB to use

How is your telkom 3gig effectively 5gig? I'm on the same package and i get hard capped at 3gig on the dot.

iirc 2gb accounts were recently upgraded to 3gb and the old 3gb (which used to be "effectively 5gb") was officially increased to 5gb.

Ask Gian to please sell the local only IS also. Simple.

Or get it from Openweb at R130 for 30GB in the meantime.

I wouldn't mind if Afrihost offered local only IS, that I could purchase once my 3Gb is finished, as I would rather support Afrihost that someone else at the moment.
