AfriHost BEWARE

This, pretty much. Now if you call Telkom as a last straw, they'll simply redirect you to Afrihost, yes?
No. You can open faults on your own or check on things. Afrihost does the minimum and very little followup.

I am lucky. When my ADSL goes down its because my Telkom voice line has gone pear-shaped. So I phone Telkom... and I have to phone because everytime they fix a log they never remove the fault report off their system so I can't submit a new fault through the app.

Well guys it's official, Afrihost have found a way to throttle my downloads.
I am on a 50gig up yo 10meg line and I used to get amazing speeds
but for this whole month my line has been stuffed!
my downloads are all going at less than 50mb but if I do a speed test (while downloading) I get 6-700mb
Now you please tell me what's going on there...?

Where are you downloading from?

Just had something very interesting happen.
my downloads have been doing about 20kb for this month
not too good for a 10mb 50 capped line
I have the same capped line at work.
and just out of interest I put my work account on my home pc and began my downloads again.
for about 10min my speeds were back up to 600kb but then dropped to around 100kb
when I put my account back on at home everything crawls to a halt again.
Why are two accounts performing so dramatically different on the same line??
anyone have a legitimate answer???

I did contact Telkom and they have a pending adsl order on my line, i only placed an order on Afrihost website. So basically we can order the line from Afrihost and they can send the order to Telkom on my behalf but not check the status of the order Afrihost send to Telkom?

Received the email below from Afrihost today, I never cancelled my order!! Hope telkom will still install the adsl line that was via Afrihost. I will never order my adsl from an ISP again.

Dear My name

We trust that you are well!

Please note that your account (011) 475-XXX that was on "ADSL" has been cancelled as per your request. If you need to cancel your voice portion of of your line, please contact Telkom on 10210 - residential or 10217 - business.

I trust you are well...no i am not. I have not had a response for a week and when you respond you ignore most of my questions. The R600 invoice doesn't help either considering i have had about 25% service this month.

Place where English is not the preferred language

LOL! By far the best downloads are available through sites like these. Just look at the upload service called "rodfile" that are having their servers in sweden. US's enforced DMCA cannot touch some sites like these I guess. Hope Kim Dot Com can keep Mega going for a long time. :)

What line do you have that you get 600Mbits? :D

Morning people
ok I have just put my home account on the work router and my tests are inconclusive on this side.:(
my home account at work is absolutely fine. net is nice and fast.
downloads top out at 300kb.
In fact my home account works better at work. so I am going to leave them switched around.
the only real difference I have is at home with the two accounts and I have no idea why?
