I'm just having issues with google services. Everything else seems fine but even doing a google search is taking forever.

It pears in the UK so each transaction including any ads served is international traffic. The MTN Google Peering is bad, it should peer locally for better efficiency. It can be a real pin with Google Docs too as it is a constant international stream with the inherent latency.

Is it just slow? I'm going to run some tests now, from what I understand nothing has changed here though
Are either of you guys running OSX or Linux by any chance?

Edit: Just ran some tests at home, Google services look normal for me. Definitely linking up to the local CDN.

A traceroute may show that, but we're using Google's local CDN to cache content.

This should definitely be fixed. From late last night I've seen much better feedback. Are you seeing packet loss across the board or only when using certain services?

Getting 10% packet loss on a Cape Town CS server and my mumble client refuses to receive or send any UDP Packets at all. Things have worsened overnight for sure.

How do I run an MTR?

(My traceroute, originally called Matt's traceroute) is a computer program which combines the functionality of the traceroute and ping programs in a single network diagnostic tool.[1]

MTR probes routers on the route path by limiting the number of hops individual packets may traverse, and listening to responses of their expiry. It will regularly repeat this process, usually once per second, and keep track of the response times of the hops along the path.

Open cmd -> type in "tracert [ipOfServer]" -> hit enter.
Right-click -> select all -> enter.
Click the paste button in a post in the thread.
You can also use the [code"] [/code] to make it more compact (remove the " from the first code).

Just want to add that I also had an issue with google last night. Round 10-11pm or so. Not sure if it started then or before but thats when I went online and noticed it. Couldn't load google search or youtube at all??? When I checked this morning it seemed fine.... Service has been quite erratic lately : /

These are the same links I tried to tell you about when I was doing traceroutes. I'm willing to bet my bottom dollar that when it comes to peak time those links start freaking out.

If you're using Windows you can use an app called WinMTR. Don't think the CMD supports MTR natively.
