Hello

My friend would like to get a 4mb 100gb cap account for R458 PM from Afrihost.
On the website regardless of what speed you put the price is always the same see photos.

10mb:

What is the reasoning for this?
What else will be needed for this bundle to work?(router, telkom land line, ADSL line, etc?)

Thanks

Apparently 8 gig cap with 40 meg vdsl line will have afrihost start paying you to use the data, as the data costs - R 14. The whole page has so many things wrong with it. Changing a few small things on that page alone can reduce some of the support calls I am sure they get on a regular basis

That is definitely very strange!

I just tested from my side, and the Pro-Rata costs were definitely different for each line speed option. It could be that we were pushing through updates to the Clientzone.

Would you mind asking your friend to try the sign-up again, and if it happens, please PM one of us so that we can help in getting the sign-up completed.

Working fine for me now. Must have just been last night.
EDIT: Never mind. Changing the line speed doesn't affect the pricing. I don't think it is being included into the bundle price at all.

I think you only get billed for the adsl line when it is actually activated or transferred to Afrihost. So they basically just charge you for the pro rata data which does not seem right if you don't have a adsl line at all and if Telkom takes AGES to setup the adsl line.

The exact Billing structure would depend on whether or not we are activating a new ADSL line for the Client, or transferring an existing ADSL line from Telkom.

If it is a new ADSL line activation, both the cost of the data and the line rental will only be charged to the client once the ADSL line is actually up and running.

If it is a migration of the ADSL line to Afrihost, the data will be charged immediately - as the line should already be active - and the line rental will only be charged once the actual migration to Afrihost has been completed. In all instances there will only be pro-rata charges for the remainder of the month.

Once you have entered all of your details - the type of the line order etc - our system will then calculate the charges that will occur immediately and those that will only be charged at a later point. The screen where you initially select your line speed and the type of package basically displays what you can expect to pay during the course of a regular month assuming everything is up and running.
