Its been a while since i was CC merchant, but from what I remember if I sell you goods and you give me your credit-card and its DECLINED - YOU pay a penalty fee. Not me the merchant? Since I can't know if the card failed before trying it.

I'm just wondering cause one of my debit cards failed now on Afrihost and I got a snotty email from them claiming they will "end the relationship" because "we are liable for bank fees on failed transactions". Sounds like hogwash to me??

Their service is already crappy as it is... Its like they're begging us to to leave them lol. Axxess here I come...

Happened to me also, afrihost's way of saying to the client to Foff, in the end they loosing the 3k a month, new service provider anyways gave me a better service in compared to their support. So in the end it was a good ending on my side and less cash to their side.

:( If a debit order is submitted by us and the payment fails Afrihost does pay a penalty fee for the transaction.

Ive highlighted some pertinent points from my initial comment...: ..."CREDIT-CARD and its DECLINED... as well as ..."DEBIT CARDS failed...

Not debit orders.
