Seems to me there is no support at Afrihost.

Signed up with a credit card with a expiry date 09/09 on 23 Sept without any problems. On 30 Sept I got the renewal for October and bandwidth allocation.

On 1st Oct got a email that the funds have not been paid over by the bank as the cc expired and was requested to make a direct payment to their account, which I did on 13h00 on 1/10/09. Capitec Bank send a proof of transfer to Afrihost and I confimed it by email and furnished them with a new CCard expiry date.

I received a confirmation email:

Ticket ID: PWF-831427

Had no reply up to today and I sent them another email requesting feedback on my previous ticket as the service is still suspended as I type this. Again got a reply with a new ticket and a new ticket reference nr.

Which ticket to use?

Now the question, how long is a reasonable time to keep calm and not get "de bliksem in"?

dude this is just stupid. Whats wrong with giving your ID? you can just ask them to close the account since they want your ID.

I guess you have no bank accounts since they ALL need ID's?

Duh - its cause emailing them your ID book at one million megapixels uses 10GB of bandwidth - didn't you know that? :D

Someone doesn't understand the concept of theft and why companies try and prevent it.

And I still do not understand what he is ranting about

He misunderstood what he read.

He thought they won't allow him to download the entire bandwidth allowance that he paid for.

Bet he is hiding in a corner somewhere now because he got all upset over nothing and made himself the court jester for the day.

A reasonable person would've used the following logic and thought process:

1) Afrihost offers 1GB international bandwidth at a dirtcheap price
2) People go nuts and flood them with applications
3) Afrihost can't handle the influx efficiently because of lack of staff
4) 99% of the people do however get great support from them...unfortunately you were the 1%

So, just PM Afrihost-Gian on these forums and you'll get sorted.

yeah me neither, maybe he was tripping when he wrote it....cause it makes no sense....it reminds me of the following story...

i had 10 rand and because I never had a cat before I checked the weather and as I did that I had some lunch with my aunt and someones bird flew down a pipe and I missed the car because I think my banana was soft

, someone pls slap me, cause what I'm talking about makes no sense :) kind of useless thread

That's precisely what I did not wanted to do, pm the the big boss over the weekend, while the support staff should do the job.

Read again, was paid over on Friday, just unlock the account or at least give feedback and don't just give more tickets with promises.

Saw that - but they might not haven gotten to it - I know my mails to accounts took around 5hrs to get a response.

Who cares who gives you the support...if you want something done, just send a quick PM.

And it's actually refreshing that the CEO is directly involved so you should make use of his presence on the forums.

Strange, I am using the WA 10g account but just now when I open FB, it showed an Afrihost you are capped page. I login to my router and confirmed the WA account, refresh the page and it's ok again...

That page must've been stuck in your browser's cache..

My rant over.

All is sorted now and I am happy again.

Thanks to Afrihost and apologies for climbing the bandwagon of complainers.

But I have never exceed my Afrihost bandwidth before, never touched my 800mb allocated for Sep and I only used very little of my 3gig Afrihost until the WA 10 gig kicked in.

WTF

cyberarmy...the same thing just happened to me!!

I'm using my trial account from WA but I'm getting an Afrihost capped page when trying to go to facebook.

HUH
