I just received an email form Afrihost notifying me that my credit card will be debited on 27/01/2011 for annual domain charges.

It comes as a surprise as I am pretty sure that Afrihost ran a special last year, whereby users were given a free domain registration service including all costs.

Can anybody suggest a way forward ?:wtf: Can ASfrihost realy debit my account without prior authority?

I could be wrong at saying this but.

The special was for the following they don't charge you the normal registration which is like R200-300 and the first year was free.

Now you pay a yearly fee for a domain, it is now the second year and they are billing you for that year.

So they doing nothing wrong, just I don't think you read the special properly. Domains are not free you pay a annual fee.

Like I said I could be wrong.

I sent an email to their accounts department. As stated already, maybe Afrihost should be transparent when communicating 'specials' to their prospective customers.

Im sure this was in their T&C. It is not something they can just leave out. Even if they did, the special said domain registration, this is a domain renewal

And should the client not wish to renew ?
Should'nt that be an option ?

Can't wait for the new credit act..........

Then you cancel. But then you lose your domain + any hosting. ITs standard with any hosting provider you goto
