AS the other thread for Afrihost is in its 400+ page and I really don't think this should be buried.

So

Now seriously, how long does Afrihost expect me to be patient for?? You call, the standard message which has been on since two days ago still testing "and thanking" me for my patience, what kind of problem can take this long???? Are we once again out of capacity? from just two weeks ago?????

I would like to know the actual contention ratios that is on the Afrihost networks right now? is it something like 1:50 or maybe 1:100?

My AH Speedtest
Timed Out!!!!

:: Edit ::

Just called in, waited 12 minutes on the line, an Adrian picked up, tried to lie that the problem was reported last night at 10 when on Afrihost website its since 11/11/14 @ 16:35 (the actual fault would have been much earlier), when I pointed that out he simply hung up on me, I will be claiming phone costs on that call!!!! and YES!! I have a recording of it!!

I agree that this has gotten out of hand, I am using a Business line and for the last 2 days I have been having download speeds of below 1mbps ... ... If I play Dota on local servers i get 3-600 ping and ping spikes of 800+

Really frustrating

These problems have been happening for 3 months and their support center lately has not been much better than Telkom. What I noticed during this period is that just after they take your money the internet goes really bad, the spew out a bunch of nonsense to keep your hopes up that everything will be sorted soon so that you don't cancel. Towards then end of the month when you are on the verge to cancel, everything gets sorted and you decide to stay because you think these issues have been sorted, but the issue start again just after your money has been taken.

My advice is cancel even if it get good again towards the end of the month. These ISPs are like abusive men that promise their woman they have changed, only to beat you up again. And if the next ISP starts giving issues, leave them too.

earlier this yr (jan) my telkom calls to ah cost about R220 (national calls from ct-jhb)
Feb was much better - only about R120 or so.
not even sure what the mobile call costs were !

they dont even have a sharecall number

but you know what the solution is tho, dont you.

A nice big FU to afrihost treating their loyal customers like sh|t.

Money does change the integrity of a company they forgot their roots. They where the people's ISP and now they are just another corporate business run by a bigger player(mtn) pulling the strings.

Afrihost doesn't exist anymore, but Afrihoax does.

Edit: also in the 3 months bandwagon.

Oh My!! considering I've only been with Afrihost since Feb this year, I seriously wouldn't have moved if I knew this was the way its going to be, I have been on a go slow of around 1.5mbps on my 4meg line for around 2 months (Sep to Oct) but this time it was a super slow of 0.5mbps and this is AFTER their so called upgrade.

Don't know who is responsible, but for the past couple of weeks, my internet has been horrible. Used AH support client service, they said everything on their part is fine, made contact with Telkom, they had technician over that looked at things including the exchange. Guess it would be telkom with these stats?

Try a free guest account from WA, if the speeds looks better, which it will, then AHoax is the culprit

Thanks Thor187 for the advice. So I made a WA account for testing purposes and the result is still the same, so I guess I'm going to have to chew out Telscum. Thing that irritates me the most is that I keep receiving sms's that says that your line has been tested again and is free of defects. Don't know what to do else since the fault has already been escalated and I've been constantly calling telkom tech support...

That's a bummer.... If it is actually the line self...

Brother I feel you. Telkom is a very difficult place to get results.

5 weeks now waiting for them and Afrihoax to just move my line from ADSL to VDSL.

Doing it tomorrow, doing it in the next few hours, doing it now. *no response*
