I've been struggling with a problem with afrihost (on MFN) for two weeks now where I lose my default gateway on my ont so I dont have internet access. Basically, it seems as if the line needs to be reprovisioned each time before I come back online.

I've had the ont replaced and MFN test the line but it doesnt seem to solve the problem. MFN insist that everything is working on their side but, predictably, Afrihost keep blaming MFN.

I've spent hours and hours on the phone between MFN and afrihost but I dont seem to be any close to getting an answer. Has anyone else experienced this?

I didn't get a response to my previous post but can someone help me with a problem I've been having with Afrihost since 2 June. It appears that my ONT keeps dropping its default gateway so I then lose internet access. The attached is a test direct from the ONT.

I have had the ONT replaced by Metrofibre and a technician check the line. Metrofibre insist that everything is good on their end. I even had a senior engineer from Metrofibre check my line last night and he claimed that everything is up on their end and it has to be an internal network error with Afrihost. Needless to say, both Metrofibre and Afrihost are just blaming each other and I am no closer to a solution. It is hugely frustrating as I have basically been down now for 2 weeks.

My parents have exactly the same problem and I've just discovered that their neighbours are also reporting the issue.

Hi,

Sorry I somehow missed your previous post.

Can you send me your email via a pm for me to investigate.

Hi

I have the exact same problem. It's definitely not the hardware on the customer's side. Something weird is going on somewhere since the start of June. My fibre provider is Teralink.

Hi,

Can you send me a pm with you email address?

There has been an issue on teralink with a rogue DHCP causing some issues for clients.
