Hi

Anyone having problems with Afrihost's Fibre deal.

I applied two weeks ago.
Was told installation takes about a week (For Vumatel Aerial) from order.
It's not going on two weeks.
Afrihost at first told me order was processing
Then was told the order was not placed
Then was told they forgot to place the order and are escalating.
Still NO JOY form Afrihost (what happened to Pure Joy)
All I am getting are apologies.
Have a record of all this on Whatsapp.

Only thing positive I can say is they did send the Wireless router that was promised as part of the Fibre deal (about a week ago). Though their system still does not reflect it.

Sadly its costing me additional money on Broadband data (I reduced my package in anticipation of fibre being installed at the end of July).

Seems like Afrihost can't keep up to the free install and activation on this Fibre deal.

Is it a cash flow problem with Afrihost? (I know Vuma charges around R1800 to install which Afrihost is covering in the deal).

Afrihost.... I've been a customer of yours from your early days. These days it just seems I'm a statistic.

To be honest, I'll blame Vuma. I don't think their systems are that great. My order got messed up and I was offline for 5 days. Mines was supposed to be a simple migration from my old ISP to Afrihost but it turned out to be a nightmare

Thing is - Afrihost admits not even placing the order with Vuma

I placed my order while with another ISP, and was supposed to be seemless changeover, it wasn't. Woke up to no internet, logged a support request at 7am, at lunchtime no response and ended up using whatsapp to speak to someone who then manually did it.

Side note, 10mb is a useless speed, do one speedtest and **** falls apart.

Yes, buffer central, and have submitted cancellation, would rather pay the R999 than suffer like this.

Can you share some performance tests? I'm curious as to why your Pure Fibre would not be performing when mine has been awesome on Openserve.

they all look good, its just you try watch rd/kodi, luckypacket if it starts playing without waiting, then you have to stop it and start it again, then it plays fine for a random amount of time then stops for no reason, so you rewind a bit until it "wakes up" again then rinse and repeat. Only seacom worked fine, liquid, HE both had this issue. The thing that pisses me off the most is you have to pay to cancel, pay to activate, pay pay pay with vumashit. Think i'm going back to adsl.

Well you have been bouncing around ISPs.... There is nothing wrong with Afrihost network maybe the issue is with Vumatel?

i had a month of bliss with macrolan, just the high ping to hong kong routing which isn't a fault and was the only reason to change. I'm going to try tech5 seeing they use seacom and are durban based to hopefully i wont find myself in cape town on speedtest. Petrified to go back to websquad with HE even tho i like them, as I had similar issue but not as bad.
