Afrihost Front line support is severely lacking.

Hi

I have had to deal with Afrihost support multiple times over the last 6-months to 1 year, really to report outages that end up being Openserve ones. The below probably applies to multiple ISP's but that's no excuse to be bad.

One thing I always do before contacting support is to perform the usual steps support will ask you to perform, rebooting devices, trying internet on another device, ping etc... I will inform support that I have done such things on logging the ticket.
I will then get a response asking me to do said things that I mentioned I have already done.
If there is an area outage this is never mentioned either.

It would really be nice to get through to support that takes what you've written in your ticket into consideration before replying and checks to see if there is a area affecting outage, either they don't care and/or support is so severely understaffed that they can't read all the tickets.

Edit: 11:46am I get a WhatsApp notification notifying about the outage over 12 hours since the issue began.

Thanks

Luckily they have active representation on this forum!

I am thinking of next outage making it absolutely the most bulletproof troubleshooting wise possible and putting a line in there, "This is a bot test, please confirm you are not a bot" somewhere and seeing what happens.

After midnight tonight you can show them your 19-year MyBB badge.

That must also count towards priority support / VIP treatment!
I'll settle for, "Your issue is being looked into, thank you for your patience, there is no ETA at this time." vs copy paste script that got pre-answered.

Very interesting that this exact issue is surfacing again and again. I have exactly the same issue with them. It also came up in other threads here.
For example I got 5 responses from different support people asking to take the actions I already done. Fire all 5 of them and employ 1 decent person that can do the job. Surely that will be more economical and provide better support.

You think you're chatting to the "CEO" on WhatsApp, meanwhile it's a Harjesh in a Hyderabad call centre typing the replies.

(Or currently a Tintswalo who started working as local Front Line Support ever since last week ...)
No one can mimic the Afrihost CEO energy. I expect replies like:

"That's smashing to hear!"
"Have a lekker awesome day, my china!"

Well now we know the CEO values his sanity at R 999 per month. I'm willing to pay him R 999 if he spends 10 mins a day listening to how my day was.

Chat to CEO via WhatsApp

I don't know if I'm more insulted because this is a lie or because they must think the average bob is a fckn idiot to believe this.

Personally, I would spent R999 for a month to tell him he's a p*es for pretending to send out spam email after spam email.

It would probably be a support person or two that provides feedback to the CEO.

The peeps fired from Ashley Madison need a job somewhere.
PS: Waiting for the free BJ option.
