Afrihost / ISDSL SMTP issues

Hi all
From my new afrihost account, SMTP email is extremely problematic.
I have tried using stmp.afrihost.co.za, smtp.isdsl.co.za, smtp.isdsl.net, smtp01.isdsl.net, smtp04.isdsl.net

Sending of messaging appears to just time out, both from Outlook and from my HTPC's sickbeard instance.
Establishment of connection and ehlo etc handshake seems to be pretty quick - but once the body of the message is transmitted the server just seems to hang without responding.
It's not to do with throttling or shaping as I am able to use an off-net smtp server with no problem.

Any ideas?

I use smtp.afrihost.co.za and this generally works fine however there seems to be a problem today as I have sent messages still sitting in my outbox.
