Afrihost Letting Me Down

OP maybe your problem is your ADSL settings ie (ADSL,ADSL2 and ADSL2+) ADSL on its own has the best performance.

Check it out.

I have a net gear dgn2200m - Is there anyway to force your modem to use a particular DSL?

Keep your :mad::mad: for now and find the source of the problem first! Did you test another ISP account at all to cancel out last mile congestion? Did you test out the 4mb profile to cancel out being too far from the exchange for proper 10mb?

I tried it with my FNBConnect data and an openweb acc and they are both fine. I saw last night it was working fine. But this comes and go and i can only hoe its gone forever :)

You probably need to lower your line speed then. If its not a reliable connection at full line speed then lowering it normally gets the stability back.

Cool: I have told them to do it and they said only from next month. Hopefully this will resolve this

Sometimes I just sit back and laugh. Everyone always blames their respective ISP's for the issues they are having - however fail to see that if it is only them having the issue, it is most likely not related to their ISP Whatsoever :D

Guys - if you are having an issue, use this http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/576445-quot-Help-me-fix-my-internet-quot-report-tool and report back to this thread so we can see what the issue is. That is much for helpful than just flaming your ISP for issues that are most likely related to your line.

Exactly! Sometimes people are just so ready to point fingers :D

Yup - I agree with others above - it is probably an unstable line :/ Contact Afrihost and ask them to lower your line speed to 8Mbps and see if that fixes anything :)
