Afrihost LTE Rain- super slow

Hi, Have been using Afrihost Rain LTE for about 5 months. In the last few days or week the speed is terrible. Early evening onwards it caps at 1Mbps. In the morning about 5 to 8 Mbps.

Afrihost not too helpful. I appreciate they are a reseller of sorts for Rain, but my account is with Afrihost. I understand Rain direct queries back to Afrihost.

Any ideas why the speed is so terrible? Not enough to even download let alone stream.

Hope one of the Afrihost reps who are interested in their product are on this forum and will help me please. Call centre / email help give the stock standard side step answers.

Last call for Afrihost help, else considering move to fibre.

Perhaps time for ftth with an opposition provider. I am offering Afrihost right of reply first tho.

Post this in the AfriHost Support forums - the reps don't seem to troll on the Rain thread.
 
another unhappy customer, see my posts in numerous forums recently...hoping i get some response and resolution, although no doubt whoever replies will tell me to refer to T+C's , terribly sorry for the inconvenience, blady blah....whatever.
 
Any update on this? I am also on Afrihost Rain LTE. Just sick and tired of not getting any speed at peak times. See attached image. 0.1mbps is really just unacceptable. I want to cancel now and they want to ask me a R999 cancellation fee. I feel they should refund me for a service not rendered. Guess I need to hang on till my 6months are done not to pay the penalty. But in the meantime?

Your post looks very similar to mine on another thread. Same speeds, same issue re cancellation and no response from Afrihost.

Poor show
 
Also getting slow speeds with Afrihost's Rain LTE Service since Friday, despite getting full signal, with the router in the same position, the speeds remain unusable at times, whereas normally I was getting 40Mbps+ download, it is now barely 2Mbps... Sometimes it connects but there is no internet. The same Rain LTE-A Service from WebAfrica performs way better so something at Afrihost is not right?!
 
Got this for my parents on month to month, who seem to stay in a black hole for any kind of broadband connection.
Was also fine for the first few months, cancelled yesterday as every evening it's completely unusable.
Will go back to Telkom Mobile as they are at least consistent at around 2Mbps.
 
Yep, moved to Telkom uncapped also because of Rains horrible speeds.

Also, my disappeared data from the 2nd month was also never resolved....Resold products always have this issue ownership problem, just bounces you back and forth until you give up :crylaugh:

What is the best option for LTE-Advanced? i'm looking for good speeds, Reliable and alot of data (not a small user)

Cell-C ? or MTN ?

They both very good from what I can tell, mtn seems to have a good network, just don't touch rain
 
i'm with Rain atm (well they shoved me onto Afrihost)

So hence me looking for better data prices and speeds (which package out there is the best bang for your buck.. PriceVSWhat you get)
