We are down the coast on holiday and I am using the Afrihost Mifi for shared internet - and for this it works great.

The problem I am having is the 2 XBoxes and Roku max this poor thing out and we end up with periodic disconnects.

I have a D-Link DSL-2750U Wireless 3G router with me that I would like to use. This is perfect for the XBoxes to hook up and for the Roku to access the Plex server on my notebook - but then no internet - and I want to jam online.

I tried to use my wife's Vodacom 3G dongle with it but Vodacom does not seem to be working. My Afrihost/MTN SIM won't work in her dongle. Sigh...

So... Is there a way to use the Mifi as a USB modem in the 3G router? This would have me 100% sorted.

Thx guys

When you tried the Vodacom dongle, did you use the Vodacom software with the other sims? This won't work. You either need a dial up connection or a 3rd party application like MDMA with other sims. I have a Vodafone type Mifi that works through USB, but I doubt it would work connected to a router like you want.

The router has settings for specifying Interface, Description, Type, Vlan8021p, VlanMuxId, Igmp, NAT and Firewall.
Could any of these be used to configure the Mifi? Or even my wifes Vodacom dongle? If so, where can I find the settings?
