So this might be a silly question but is afrihost mobile having connection problems with pokemon go ?

my map doesnt load immediately and pics from pokestops take a while to load etc at 1st i thought it was a problem with the game itself but it works perfectly when im on WiFi, when im out and out and about on 3g its slow to load the map and pics.

seems to have started 2 days ago in and around jhb (parktown and surrounds)

is this a known issue with mtn perhaps ? or could it be just me ?

i also get the "Network Error" message pop up quite frequently as well and no im not soft banned because like i say it works perfectly on wifi or in other areas

Morning

Haven't seen other reported issues, and a few guys in the office are able to play without an issue :)
Are you only seeing this in certain areas?

What are other services like?

Is this only on Pokemon GO? If it isnt:

Its an MTN signal issue at certain places. I have had the same problems at Northgate until recently. 3G had literally no throughput, put it onto edge and it worked about the same. I suggest logging the issue with the MTN coverage department.

if it is: Im stumped, maybe reinstall the game?

seems to be in different areas ie parktown, rosebank and recently randburg/sandton

today it seems fine so not sure whats going on, at home on wifi it works perfectly.

when it gave issues initially i did drop it to edge but that didnt seem to work.

oh i havent really checked other services, browsing on the web browser seems fine and the some of the online shopping apps i have are not affected ie takealot, zando etc

i'll keep monitoring it hopefully the issues wont come back

Dropping down to EDGE sounds like it may be a signal quality/ coverage issue :(
