Ja well, mine doesn't work either, not provisioned. The problem is, when someone says they'll get back to you, you kind of expect it. So here I am at home reloading a bundle on my Cell C sim.

Pretty happy with mine so far. Speedtest gives me between 2 - 5 mbps. The downloads I did last night was a bit slow though. ranged between 90 - 400kbps and was swinging between those figures dramatically. This was downloading new firmware for my P6 from Huawei international site though ... so perhaps the problem was on their server .... but the download of Chrome update on my Linux Mint was also pretty slow.

MTN is not throttling ou downloads by any chance?

Ok I tried my Mobile 3 sim this morning and it's not working. Get error message. "Connection failed. Network access is not allowed. Please contact your service provider" Any ideas ?

Still waiting, hopefully soon:

Mine is also not working (Afriman was looking into it for me). I'm partially glad that it's not just me.
Hopefully it wont require me to wait for a new SIM card.

For those folks that have SIM cards not working; did you receive any welcom SMSs from MTN / RICA?
I got one spam sms the moment I put the SIM into the router (lol :wtf:) but nothing else.

I did not get any welcome SMS. What is strange to me is that I can sent and receive SMS's with the sim.:wtf:

I've tried several times now and the error message is the same

My Mobile 3 was delivered at 11am. Popped the sim into the MiFi and it works. :)

Happy day, got my data sim just now :D

Unfortunately, I ran into the same problem as:

Using the Afrihost mifi.
Will test a bit more to see what's up.

Update: Can't get it to phone on my phone nor the mifi device. Afriman, need advice please :)

The only time Afrihost got back to me was when I gave them a low rating on the followup SMS relating to the original service call. They called me within minutes to find out why. I explained to the guy that no one is giving me an indication of what to do about my problem(Sim card not provisioned). He said he'd get someone to contact me regarding the sim card which doesn't work. That still has not happened. So far, I've mailed, SMS'd, tried calling (The line disconnects after 14 minutes). I don't have anymore follow up SMS's to use for getting them to contact me :-)

So what must I do?? Call MTN direct? Throw the card away? Wait a week? What?

Think Afrihost has bitten off more than they can chew, much like the ADSL line of mine they tried to manage.

Eish!

Sorry that we've let you down here, I'd like to look into this and have things sorted out for you.
Please PM me your account info and I'll take a look at things from our end for you :)

My adsl was down the last 2 days so i used my mifi on the home pc for my torrents and not bad at all. averaging around 200kbps peaking at around 400 to 500 at times.

this is a good backup to have if adsl fails and now with their new pricing on the capped accounts i'm seriously considering cancelling my uncapped in favor for a bigger capped account.
