I asked about this a few months ago but I'm still experiencing the same problem, and just want to check if you've since gained any more intel.

Basically using Adium my gmail chat gets disconnected and reconnected about 5 seconds later several times a day. It's quite frustrating as I talk to clients, then miss what they typed.

When using my Vodacom sim in the mifi device I have zero problems, have a stable connection the whole day..

Just today:

I'm not personally aware of any issues, I'll follow up with AfriMan and see if there's any info on his end :)
 
2 for one data topups are up. Does anyone get email notifications about these specials?
 
Getting fed up with service from Afrihost and MTN

Afriguy below is my speedtest result.



0.03 upload seriously ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I've logged calls and talken with afrihost before and everytime they just say everything seems to be fine. I've filled in a coverage query form and nothing has come off it. Afrihost you need to step up you game and make sure MTN delivers on the service you promise

The upload speed isn't great at all here :(

Yes this has been consistent and makes the connection unusable. At first I thought the latency and download speed was giving the problems making it unusable for gaming(Dota 2). The latency shows that I should be fine playing the SA based mweb server. I use to be able to play with my mtn 3g but since a December this has become impossible.

THis is in the Rustenburg, Old cashan area

Rosettenville south of jhb... downloaded a firmware for my phone @ 3mb which took about 20 mins for 1.4gb file which is awesome☺
 
AfriGuys, when will we know what's gonna happen in Feb with the pricing etc?
 
Better be quick. I'm about to sign a 2 year contract with Telkom Mobile. 20GB pm at R199 pm.

Ok, well unfortunately I'll be canceling - pity because otherwise it's a good service.
