Hi,

Is the only payment method for buying mobile prepaid data with credit card? Seems to be, doesn't help that i don't have one, all my other packages i am able to choose debit order howcome not mobile?

For the moment, yes. :(

We've had to temporarily only allow credit card payments for Mobile products, we've had massive issues with fraudulent sign-ups.

I just got an SMS and email about 30 minutes ago telling me my account is now active and I can start using it, my problem is when I change my APN from "myMTN" to "afrihost" I lose my internet connection completely. Is my account really activated or is mtn blocking my sim from connecting to your APN?

MTN's technical team has identified that you have the incorrect data settings on your device. To ensure stable data connectivity, please dial *123*13# to receive the correct Data settings. To get help call 1555.

I was able to get help. I'm all good now: )

Could have needed a few more mins to activate, everything still sorted for you?
 
Another one.... @afrigenie or @afriguy can you guys check my account of all is good?

It could be MTN notifying you that you're using a different APN. That's news to me if they are though.
Have you changed your MMS settings?
 
What is mms ? don't use it at all and never changed it.

Only changed apn. Not a train smash... Just dont want a nasty bill from mtn coming month end. Have also checked every time I get the msg that I am still on afrihost apn.

Might be worth checking with MTN too, just to be sure they aren't picking up a data connection from the device.
If this page shows you're on our network then you're all good :)
 
Also got a MTN sim card and setup it with "afrihost" (all lowercase) APN, But it does not connect to it! Only default MTN APN will connect and work.. Not "afrihost" APN .. Even reboots and made sure I did it right.

All ready sent a Email to support and all reply i got was what area i am in?
But still my APN does not work?

Anyone else ever had issues with LTE? I've done a SIM swap, forced LTE but still unable to get an LTE connection...

no they didnt fix it. It was working this weekend. This morning its broken again :confused:. MTN network is crumbling. I think I am cancelling my afrihost mobile before I get any more grey hairs from internet frustration. :mad:
