I signed up for Afrihost Mobile 3+7 GB promo on Tuesday the 12th - can't argue with the price on a month-to-month offering. I was impressed to receive my SIM card today - initial speed tests look very promising and I can't wait to try it out at home. I just chucked the SIM card into my laptop, changed the APN to afrihost and removed the default user name; job done. I wasn't disappointed to see the promo dropped to 3+4 GB today - it's still great value for money. Will update here with my findings closer to home (CPT CBD area).

Hooked up a client today with Afrhiost 5GB + 5GB offering. Huawei B683 with external antenna= 9.82Mbps download and 2.34Mbps upload. Ping average was 67ms. Im very pleased, its going to work very well for my client.

Cheers, getting such decent speeds and connection, not used to it after having suffered at the hands of cell c for the past year and putridview for 15 days.

I was quiet surprised myself when I started downloading, receiving speeds of up to 15 meg, never experienced that with CELL C ever, but after putting the CELL C sim card in the MiFi I was lost for words, they improved their network. Getting 10 meg download speed but for how long not sure.

I battled for a year on the 200giga sim, it was always a lottery session, maybe i just had ill luck. It would always always give me hassles.

I'm on this afrihost APN on my MTN sim, and I can't begin to explain how good it is just to have consistently good connection - love it. Should have moved over months ago.
