Hi guys, I'm new to the forums section so I'll keep this short. I just want to lift out the fact that Afrihost has now become the most expensive ISP by far where usually they were the ones competing for the most affordable prices.

Can anyone explain what is going on and if they plan to lower their prices in the near future, because if they don't I foresee another Telkom where they will start to lose a lot of customers, including me.

Afrihost seems to value quality over quantity.

So cheers. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

For business uncapped maybe but the normal uncapped accounts are shaped to death.
Moved over to the dark side (telkom internet) 2 months ago and I have been downloading at full speed ever since.

I am happier to not get support on a service that I don't need support on than have great support 4 times a week because I constantly have to call the call centre.

PS.... Look at the 10Meg package

Some of their prices are reasonable, some of them are just.... wow.

They support is crap, being calling 8th time since yesterday.

Truly sorry to hear about the issues some people are having with Afrihost. Since telkom fixed my exchange 4 weeks ago everything has been rosy...full speed 24/7 just about. Have not seen shaping in three weeks since they activated more capacity on all the IPCs. And their official IPC increase still needs to be deployed.

Also...a bit stupid to compare Mwebs standard accounts...which get throttled around 90gb to Afrihost uncapped. Hell even MwebGuy said the throttle limit on a 6mbs standard account was around 150gb... I do that in a week on my 4mb...how the hell do I get by with 150 over 30 days??

Rather compare to Mwebs Premium pricing...

Oh look...not so cheap now eh?

Keep you line rental/management with Afrihost and shop for an ISP account elsewhere. They are on the expensive side lately.
