Hi.Thanks @Afrigirl
So the TP-Link MR600 will work with any sim?
What is the warranty on the TP-Link MR600?
Thanks, that's interesting, most stores offer a 2 year warranty on the MR600 and on most TP-Link products?Hi.
The device will work with any sim.
The warranty is 1 year.
Hi.
The device will work with any sim.
The warranty is 1 year.
Please note that a prepaid SIM cannot be used for Pure LTE.@AfriNatic please answer below questions regarding TP-Link Archer MR600
*Thanks, that's interesting, most stores offer a 2 year warranty on the MR600 and on most TP-Link products?
*Also, If you have a working MTN prepaid sim; can you use that for the pure lte?
It's not that they monitor the devices used. They've designed their network such that only Cat 6 or higher are compatible. So non-compatible devices will simply not work.
Hi Xera.@Afrigirl is this the case?
I turned on my Pure LTE SIM last night, and it worked for about an hour before it suddenly stopped when I was mid game.... And then a bit latter I received an email that my SIM had been blocked.
It was my understanding that the list of "supported devices" was an indication as to what to use, not a whitelist of the only approved devices.
Speedtest before it was blocked, to prove that it worked:

Hi Xera.
Which device are you using?
Putting the SIM into unsupported device will work until it's detected and that is when a SIM is blocked.
I already saw that. Here is the list of the approved devices.![]()
Pure Wireless Internet | MTN Wireless and Telkom Wireless at home | Afrihost
No Fibre at home or work? No problem! With Pure Wirless you can get connected in days, not weeks.www.afrihost.com
The list of devices approved by MTN and Afrihost, which I previously shared, includes the most up-to-date models. Unfortunately, I cannot provide any insight into the content shared by Afriman five years ago, as it falls outside the scope of current documentation. To my knowledge, there has been no official confirmation or documentation from Afrihost regarding the approval of any Cat6 devices for our MTN Pure LTE services.I already saw that.
How does that answer my question?
My device is SXT LTE6 2023 - 300Mbit/s Downlink, 50Mbit/s Uplink.
It has the R11 LTE6 which supports Carrier Aggregation: https://mikrotik.com/product/r11el_fg621_ea
Seems like it supports the requirement Afriman says, and also seems like it supports LTE-A/LTE+?
Hi.What's this nonsense and since when .....
- 20Mbps - Subject to a monthly threshold of 100GB. Once you’ve reached your monthly data limit, your connection speed will be limited to 4Mbps for the remainder of the month.
True, but the caps have changed radically. Attached is a post you made where you said it was 1T jyst last yearHi.
All Pure MTN LTE uncapped packages have been subjected to a monthly threshold since they were launched.

Ah! Did not know it used to be like that...True, but the caps have changed radically. Attached is a post you made where you said it was 1T jyst last year
The 20 Mbps, 50mbps and 100 Mbps Pure LTE packages were only launched in June 2024.True, but the caps have changed radically. Attached is a post you made where you said it was 1T jyst last year
