Afrihost MTN Fixed LTE-A Thread

I got this last night. Proof I can get 100Mbps.

So why am I not getting 100Mbps?

Clearly some network change being rolled out, that removed my 50Mbps throttle limit.

This service has just degraded and degraded over the months. where i used to get great speeds now all i get is random network disconnects, slow speeds and terrible latency.

It is why I switched, MTN is throttling and causing issues, I have had so much of packet loss and slow speeds with massive ping spikes to 1000ms,

It will unfortunately always creep up rather sign up for something else

MTN have disabled carrier aggregation on all fixed LTE and 5G products across the whole network.

Plus they have a secondary throttling protocol on top on the ISP thresholds.

Fixed Wireless on MTN is essentially dead.

Using normal mobile data in a router, full carrier aggregation works and no throttling.

It's a sad state of affairs.

I was sure of this too, because my TPlink MR600 stopped aggregating completely for an entire year. I got a ZTE G5TS (No 5G coverage at all it turns out) and moved it to a different spot in the house and I've been connected to both bands 41 and 3 for 8 days straight now. It would sometimes require several reboots to aggregate because it likes to be stuck on only Band 3 or Band 1. Forcing bands seems to not help either. No idea why aggregating is such a struggle on fixed MTN. I've since cancelled anyway because being limited to 20mbit after hitting 250GB on a 100mbit service at over R600 is laughable.
