Afrihost <-> Mweb

Here is a quick one for you guys, Seeing the Afrihost prices today made me rethink my ADSL. Iv had nothing but good service from Afrihost beginning with there free 1GB Data accounts to their Mifi device that I signed up for and now maybe moving my ADSL data to them...

Anyways i just need a quick guideline as to how they performing, i love the portal to manage accounts on Afrihost and iv always got good responses from them, currently been upgraded to a 4mb and i think its time to make the move before the PS4 comes out....these are my needs:

1. Gaming (on holiday so its max 5 months of the year I want good results)
2. XBMC (3 XBMC devices at home all running on internet and downloading updates, covers, trailers ect)
3. iPads, Laptops, Android Devices (All online for skype what not)
4. Work Batch Updates (The mother updating batch files from work over vpn, pretty data intensive)
5. Browsing
6. The downloading obviously as a last resort for lets be honest some series weekly all taking place at night.

Now my current mweb monthly average is 200GB and iv never been throttled or shaped, this average is also when im home and my gaming aswell as streaming is active with other montly usage around 120GB and what not...What i wanted to find out from you guys is the type of speeds your getting more so if they staying constant aswell as the overall line performance specifically in GAMING section....

if u want to move to Afrihost, get one of the business accounts. they perform really well... dont hear much complaints about it and when i do afrihost fix it up pretty quick. i myself have heard nothing but complaints when it comes to MWeb

Afrihost business accounts are amazing, you won't find better performance.

Compared to other Consumer products yes. Don't like the fact that I need to pay Business subs to get proper Consumer performance.

You might not be satisfied with the regular uncapped accounts if you're not used to shaping. Would suggest business account.

I don't see a problem with it, I'd expect to pay more for an unshaped account, especially with telkoms IPC costs. If you got that performance on a consumer product then there would be no need for a business product. Afrihost could just remove the home uncapped accounts and only offer the business accounts and rename them as consumer accounts. But then you would'nt have the option for a cheaper account if you so desired.

Afrihost business uncapped is the bomb. I vpn to my home server during the day and more often than not I am running at full speeds. Most I have done is 500+gb without any throtteling and shaping.
