I was informed by our ISP, Bundu Networx that Afrihost has blocked Neotel, meaning I or my mother can't access this ONE website that is hosted by Afrihost in the KZN Midlands. We were temporarily moved over to the Mweb connection for a short time before being put back on the Neotel route, just to be able to access this one website and order stuff for our animals.

Why has this happened?

I can't access www.vetproductsonline.co.za from my home network but I can access the website from my phone. Another thing to point out is that in the sticks, we can't get phone lines due to cable theft. Telkom has stopped replacing the cables and every farm here doesn't have a phone line in sight.

I don't know what to do because I've send a message to the company about the issue and it's been over 3 weeks since they send a mail to the Afrihost techs to find out what is going on and why.

Is my ISP lying to me or is Afrihost not doing anything about the issue?

We definitely wouldn't block Neotel at any point on our network. Would you mind switching back to your account that you're having problems with and running a traceroute to vetproductsonline.co.za.

I'll need to see what's happening with the routing to that site.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you - had a major storm and the router had to be unplugged until it passed. We've lost about 3 or 4 routers in 3 years, thanks to lightning and thunderstorms.

Thanks.

It looks like the domain is resolving, so it doesn't look like we're blocking the site or IP.

Could you maybe PM me the reply that you got from Bundu networx?

PM send, AfriGenie :)

I'm on Afrihost and can access the site perfectly.

That doesn't exactly help me because I"m on Bundu Networx, running on a Neotel connection, which is pretty stupid as it causes more issues than being on the Mweb connection.

I got a feeling the problem lies with Bundu and Neotel.

We'll get to the bottom of this! :)

Great. I just checked the IP's off the internet DB and the information is wrong. I mean one IP address ends up in Sandton and the other somewhere in JHB - nowhere near where I am (Mooiriver). I've even checked my public IP and it puts me all over the place - Umkomaas, and Nottingham Road (close enough).

I just did another tracert and this time using the IP address of the website instead of the domain name:

Clear the cache on your pc browser.

Options/history/clear cache. It may help can't hurt to try

If you are running on the neotel network you can also try changing your dns to google dns and see if that resolves any issues. Since about 4 months ago I have had endless issues with the default neotel dns settings

That last trace looks pretty good. :)
