afrihost or cybersmart

i'm not even sure if this is a question that really needs to be asked, but which would be better to play on the eu servers with a 384 line - afrihost uncapped or cybersmart 10gb with the whole weekender 3/capsaver vibe (the one cybersmart discontinued a while back, not a heavy downloader so mine never stopped working).

i'm sure there's not much between them but i only just signed up for the uncapped account and at the moment it seems to be working better in terms of browsing than my old cybersmart account..

I'm on the Cybersmart account and I do about 30 gigs a month, I prefer it to the uncapped offerings as there is shaping and what not.

I like to be able to play my online games and do updates etc without having to worry about issues.

So far this account has been perfect for my needs (512, 10 gig, nightrider, weekender, saver) R580 pm

im with cybersmart 384 uncapped package, and as of patch 4.0.1 its been totally unpalyable with latency peaking at 16k followed by a disconnect.
im not sure if its because this account is "Shaped" tried calling SAOL and emailed numerous times but no valid reply or answer

Currently our seacom capacitity is down, we have been told this is a general issue with the backhaul and pretty much all ISP's who has seacom capacity is effected. We further have a problem with our IPC link that carries jhb traffic. When these things are resolved all should be back to normal and latency to EU servers should be good

i see. i've also got that 1gb freek afrihost account which i've heard is okay to play off. to be honest, i've been meaning to cancel my cybersmart account for some time now, such high latencies and stuff - lots of websites timing out, or i have to refresh a few times to get it to load. just not up for the mission that would be moving my line from them back to telkom..

guess i'll just have to see for myself when i get the game down, haven't played in years & years but i just found an unused game card in my cupboard (from 2006 haha, hope they don't expire!).

wishing the waiting list for a faster line wasn't so long at my exchange..

would that have any affect on the problems i mentioned above? timing out etc. does cybersmart have a notice board for network problems?

Laurie, im on a 384K Uncapped - Shaped + FUP account with SAOL, and this WoW latency problem has only started within the last 2 months, yet the previous 2 months it worked great, my normal webpage downloading is perfect, torrenting seems perfect too, browsing great, its just WoW has become
unplayable? can you please shed some light on this for me?
